Scott Pilgrim VS 8th Ex Carter

Age: Uncertainly mid-twenties

Occupation: Freelance fine traditional artist, art critic, 4th Wall Pioneer, seeker of his Muse named Ramona

Powers: Special Ink, can control all forms of ink around him- BUT, once it becomes his ink, it can not touch paper, lest it be absorbed completely (or water. Or milk. Or coke. Or any other liquid.) 4TH Wall Pioneering, can break the 4th wall. World champion break dancer-on-own-speech-balloon.

Crucial Backstory: Prior to her escapade to Toronto, Canada, Ramona took her residence in New York. Of course, we all know it's impossible to live secluded in the Big Apple. Sooner or later, you meet a new face- or in this case, a new worshiper. Ramona happened upon a downtrodden artist who had just recently been removed from an enormous art commission project when his team dubbed his passionate, albeit somewhat bi polar, fire for the work to be a bit too much to handle. That, and they ran out of ointment for the bruises Carter habitually bestowed upon them when questioned. Impressed by the works to his name, Ramona mentioned how impressed she was by the works to his name. Instantly, Carter knew they were meant to be. Instantly, she became his one driving force for his works again; Ramona completely unaware that her simple encouragement and time spent together was imprinting her being into his obsessively possessive heart. In the mind of this embellished artist, Ramona had become his purpose.

Of course, this meant he was spending more time focused on her IN his works than her IN person. Ramona grew tired of spend time giving one-sided conversations with a pen and paper in constant motion. Carter may have swore they were dated, but Ramona thought otherwise. She was fed up.

Eventually, Ramona's past haunts her to the point of departure into the life of Scott Pilgrim a la Canada. Having never considered Carter her boyfriend despite the time they spent together, she left New York without notice leaving a distressed Carter to tear the city apart in search for her.

Soon, he began to sweep the world wide web, doing all that he could to locate his beloved muse- even acquiring a few 'special' inkpots...

Never known to Gideon Graves as having been with Ramona, Carter Bellaveau never received the memo to join the League of Seven Evil Ex's. His search, however, brought him to a rant posted by G-Man, giving the location of both Ramona- and a 'target': Scott Pilgrim.

'Surely, this Scott is the reason Ramona was taken from me'
Carter decided, 'There is a group of heroes gathering to thwart this Scott and bring back Ramona! I must take the lead!' Equipped with his special inkpots and innate ability to pioneer the 4TH Wall, he set off to rescue his prize.

Little did he know, that message post was dated months prior. The League had already fallen to Scott Pilgrim. Carter Bellaveau was tardy to the party and doomed as coin fodder.

Well, at least he went out thinking he was the hero... Sort of.



And lo, it is completed. This was created for the Scott Pilgrim Create The 8th Evil Ex competition here on dA. It began as a personal project a week and three days before the deadline (thanks to having seen the movie only then), but this accelerated into a group project between my close and best of friends. The greatest to come out of this: We have realized what a superb team we make, especially under the gun (and believe me, we were under that gun) and are creating an official creative team of sorts!

You all. You're legends. You three know that right? Absolute legends. As stressful as that seemed time-wise, I thoroughly enjoyed working as a team. THOROUGHLY. Go give them some love. They deserve it far more than I do! I could go on and on and on and on and on, much like I am now, about how fantastic/brilliant/amazing/stupendous they all were during this. It. Was. A. Blast.

A month's worth of work, in a week and a half. Phew....
